Module 3 Follow Up Question

Q Discussion Topic The following is known as the prayer of St. Francis. While probably not penned or composed by him, it does contain many of the beliefs he lived by. Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Comment on how the concepts in this prayer might be beneficial to your vocation or calling or purpose in life, and to your relationships and life in general.

I like this prayer's message of always wanting to give instead of take and lift people up regardless of what they have done for you. This can be difficult to practice sometimes if you feel like you are in a relationship with someone who is constantly taking from you and not returning anything. It is very noble to always practice this concept like Jesus did, but difficult for me because I am sensitive. I do feel like I practice this message a lot in conversations. I am the person asking most of the questions and doing more listening than talking. I get bummed out if I do not receive questions about myself or someone constantly talks about themselves.
